Bishop Padmore Inducts Lutheran University’s Board Members

Bishop G. Victor Padmore of the Lutheran Church in Liberia has inducted members of the board of directors of the Lutheran University of Liberia (LUL).

   The Lutheran Church of Liberia recently received accreditation from the National Commission on Higher Education to run a full-fledged university in Liberia.

   The headquarters of the Lutheran University of Liberia (LUL) is located in Totota, Bong County, central Liberia.

   The Lutheran University of Liberia is the first university operated by the Lutheran Church of Liberia since 1860.

   The Lutheran University of Liberia provides bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery, medical laboratory, education, pharmacy, among others.

   The Lutheran Church of Liberia has been providing an associate of arts (AA) degrees in the area of health sciences at Phebe, Bong County.

   According to information gathered, the purpose of the university is to add value to the educational system of the country through the provision of quality education in Liberia and West Africa at large.

   Lutheran Church of Liberia is a recognized international body of Christ around the globe.

   Predicated upon its international recognition, members of the board of directors of the Lutheran University of Liberia (LUL) comprises of Liberians at home and abroad.

   Dr. Sakui Malakpa was appointed as the President of the Lutheran University of Liberia (LUL) following a vetting process conducted by diaspora Liberians.

   Dr. Malakpa holds a doctorate degree in education and law from a foreign university abroad.

   The recent Lutheran University of Liberia induction was held at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sinkor. The ceremony brought together officials and members of the Lutheran church globally.

   Dr. Morphy Anderson, President of the Association of Liberians Lutheran in the Americas, also graced the occasion.

   Those inducted as members of the board of directors are Sampson T. Varpilah, Mardea Reeves Tarpheh, Abel Leanrellie, Dr. Moses Saah Dennis, Maron Siebah, Ada C. Brown Wraynee and Rev. Dr. Eric Molley Allison.

   The Lutheran Church of Liberia has been providing solutions to issues confronting the wellbeing of the Liberian society. The church is into education, farming, church planting, health care services, among others, since its establishment in 1860.
