Montserrado County’s district #12 Representative, Jerry K. Yogboh, has expressed his appreciation to citizens of the district for electing him to the district’s seat at the National Legislature.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Freedom Center Church in the district, Representative Yogboh thanked constituents of the district for supporting his successful representative bid, and promised to work in their interest at the 55th Legislature. He called on them to join him in supporting his legislative and development agenda for the district.

The district #12 representative also used the occasion to inform the people of the district that he is cognizant of the fact that he was elected to serve their interests, and not the interest of him and his family.

Speaking further on his plan for the district in the next six (6) years, Representative Yogboh vowed to bring unprecedented development to the district, which was never seen by district residents during the tenure of past representatives of the district. The lawmaker named peace and reconciliation, repealing of the Monrovia Industrial Park (MIP) Act to grant residential status to citizens occupying portions of the industrial zones in the district, review of the Real Estate Tax Assessment Law of Liberia, strengthening of the Prisons System Law of Liberia, completion of the district’s unfinished administrative building started by former representative Richmond Anderson, regular rehabilitation of community roads, scholarships for district’s youths, empowerment of women, WASH programs, amongst others as his top legislative and developmental priorities for the district.

He also declared that he is establishing relationship with companies and business establishments in the district to support the development initiatives of the district. The lawmaker assured the constituents that no community leaders will be allowed to collect monies from companies operating in the district at the detriment of the people.

Representative Yogboh disclosed that he has commenced rehabilitation on a number of community roads in the district, beginning with the Chicken Soup Factory road and Shoes Factory and Kesselly Boulevard road, and called on constituents of the district to reach out to him and his office any time as he is willing to support any development undertakings for the benefit of the people.

The thanksgiving service, which was marked by thanks as praise singing and the offering of special prayer for Representative Yogboh by pastors of the district, witnessed the presence of two members of the House of Representatives: Montserrado County’s district #4 Representative, Michael Thomas, and Bong County district #6 Representative, Moima Briggs Mensah. The lawmakers joined the district #12 representative to be anointed by pastors of the district.    Providing the thanksgiving message, Pastor Daniel Walker called on Representative Yogboh to “craft a definite vision for your district. Be an innovative leader and be a leader willing to accept wise counsel.” At the end of the service, the chief organizer and host, Apostle Hensen Jallah of Freedom Center Church, commended Representative Yogboh for recognizing God and urged him to continue serving the people, as the district has yearned for a leader like him.
