At long last, Atty. Stephen Zargo and his principle deputies at the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) have donated one modern bus to officers of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS).

According to the LIS new boss, the bus donation to officers of the LIS is predicated upon the fact that officers of the LIS have lacked a bus for more than six years to transport them to work. And looking at their take-home salaries couple with their daily transportation to work, the situation was completely challenging for officers.

Since the coming in of the LIS new administration, headed by Atty. Zargo and his principle deputies and observation of some of the issues confronting LIS officers’ wellbeing, the new leaders decided to lobby for a bus to address the challenge of transportation faced LIS officers.

According to the LIS Commissioner General, the purchase of the institution’s bus came from the Deputy Commissioner General for Administration, Elijah F. Rufus.

The LIS Deputy boss for administration has been at the immigration for over ten years and understands issues confronting officers and the entity.

Since the donation of the bus to the LIS, officers have been celebrating, saying, “One of our major problems has been addressed. We are getting there small, small.”

Beginning next week, officers of the LIS will be seen from various locations in Monsterrado County riding a brand new bus. One more bus is expected soon, according to information gathered.
