The Bukonjadeh Group of Companies has alarmed over the prevailing alleged corruption in the President Joseph Nyuma Boakai-led government.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Bukonjadeh Group of Companies, Elton Johns, the continued allegations of corruption of some government officials is alarming, too soon, and President Boakai needs to take decisive actions against these officials.

Johns made the assertion Thursday in Monrovia as the public outcry of corruption has created serious concerned among stakeholders in the country.

He urged President Boakai to set up committees to investigate these alleged corruptions which have drawn the concerns of the ordinary marketers, yana boys, among others.

He emphasized that the Liberian people voted for change in the governance process of Liberia, but if things will be as usual under President Boakai’s leadership then the fight against corruption is a lip-service, which is unfortunate for the people of Liberia.

The Bukonjadeh boss maintained that President Boakai should do all to ensure that these corrupt officials are weeded out of government and not to compromise the interest of the people who voted him to fight corruption.

He noted that, while President Boakai is traveling around the world making Liberia’s case to attract assistance and investment, a handful of government officials are packing the Liberian people’s money, which was not the reason the people voted for him.

He lamented that corruption is alarming, and it is affecting ordinary people like the marketers and petty traders, who are all complaining about the economic hardship confronting the nation. He said President Boakai, being the father of the nation, needs to take prompt action against them.

He pointed out that the honeymoon time and babysitting with government officials is over, and President Boakai should be prepared to make strong decisions against these allegedly corrupt officials.

Johns maintained that President Boakai should realize that the Liberian people voted for change, and the action of some officials in the government is undermining the change the people voted for. He reiterated that the President therefore needs to demonstrate the confidence the people reposed in him to transform Liberia’s socio-economic development as well as the living condition of the people.

He asserted that President Boakai came to rescue the nation and its people, and this should not be compromised in any form or manner as a result of the friendship of those who contributed towards his election.

Meanwhile, Johns explained that Bukonjadeh Group of Companies is also engaged in the construction of residential and commercial buildings, including swimming pools, and as well provide general services such as apartment for rental or lease, well-furnished for short-stay in Liberia.
