Bloom Bank Africa has ended its third Aye Waste Promo raffle draw in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, with the former Minister of Public Works, Ruth Coker-Collins, winning the Star Prize.

To qualify for the raffle, one needed to register with the bank and deposit a minimum of L$20,000, which automatically generates one ticket bearing the person’s name and number for the raffle.

According to information, Collins deposited the initial amount of L$1 million into her Liberian-dollar account with the bank, which immediately generated several tickets and, as a result, she was selected twice—winning the 3.5 KVA generator and a TVS Star Motorbike, which is the Star Prize for the promotion.

Moses wheaton, a former winner of the Star Prize, told his story to the public, noting that the process is fair and that he is currently using the bike he won in traffic to generate income.

The raffle event was spearheaded by officials of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), who spun the wheel bearing the names of the qualified customers and asked any individual in the group to select just a ticket.

The name on the selected ticket would be announced as the winner. But if the name on the ticket was called three times without anyone answering, the ticket was discarded and another spin was done.

Collins won two prizes, and Octis Sunny won a cooking stove.

The draw, according to the bank’s Executive Director, Chris Osisiogu, is a continuation of the their Waste Promo being rolled out to contribute to the economy by empowering customers to get more profits.

He disclosed that customers won motorbike, generator, gas stove, umbrellas, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Osisiogu has rallied bank debtors to adhere to their commitment, underscoring that borrowers are failing to live up to their obligations of paying back loans given them, nothing that the situation is causing the collapse of many banks.

He explained that money given as loans do not belong to the bank; instead, they are customers’ money loaned for profit rate after a period of time.

Chris Osisiogu further noted that Bloom Bank Africa is well positioned to loan out money to its customers, but the customers, in return, need to be truthful and honest to fulfill their obligation when allowed to borrow from the Bank.
