The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) has dismissed allegations made by one of the Board Members of Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS), Musa Fofee Fofana, that the institution is in crisis, has no stability and functionality issues, and the superintendent awarding contracts for producing books and awarding US$86,000 to vendors for the renovation of MCSS head office without board members approval and passing through the Public Procurement Concessions Commissions (PPCC).

According to MIND, a survey conducted by the institution over the past months has proved that the allegation against Superintendent James Momoh is false and misleading, with the propensity to tarnish the good reputation of an individual who has established himself as a public figure over the years with a good record from varied institutions.

MIND described the allegations stipulated on documents by Musa Fofana and others as a witch-hunt against the superintendent who was vetted as having a good record and preferred by His Excellency President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to serve the people of Liberia as Superintendent of the Monrovia Consolidated Schools System (MCSS).

MIND said the investigation found the allegations against the superintendent of MCSS as unfair, false, misleading, meant to spoil the good image of individuals who came to the MCSS with good working records and vast experience to strengthen the institution.

MIND’s investigation alleged that there is an individual behind the fight against the MCSS Superintendent, Emmanuel Robertson, whose name was wrongly posted on the Executive Mansion’s website without the approval of the President. The group observed that Robertson has refused to understand that his appointment squarely lies in the purview of the superintendent, according to the act that established the MCSS, and not the Executive Mansion. “We as a civil society group challenge Emmanuel Robertson to bring to the public his letter of appointment by the President,” the group stated.

“MIND, as a civil society group, appreciates the superintendent for the outstanding performance since being preferred by President Boakai in organizing employees of the institution in a professional manner and sponsoring eighteen persons to India (three students and fifteen teachers) for undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs.

“We commend the superintendent for the outstanding performance at the MCSS in bringing sanity to the institution,” the civil society group stated.

The group recommended to the President to remove Musa Fofee Fofana from the MCSS Board and reshuffle the board members who will work in the interest of the institution.

MIND also recommended to the Superintendent of the MCSS that he remains focused in the discharge of the duties that will bring pride to the President and the MCSS.
