With barely two weeks left for the holding of the Liberian National Bar Association’s election, there are reports that some of the nation’s best lawyers and judges have openly declared support for the candidacy of Counsellor-At-Law G. Wiefueh Sayeh.

Counsellor Sayeh, who is also the head of the Sayeh & Sayeh Law Firm on Randall Street, is expected to face two contenders, Cllr. Bornor Varmah and Preston Chea-Doe, for the position of President of the association on November 28, 2024.

In separate verbal and written communications addressed to Cllr. Sayeh, the veteran lawyers assured the LNBA presidential hopeful of their readiness to vigorously campaign for him in the on-going campaign exercise.

One influential lawyer, in his letter to the candidate, recalled Cllr. Sayeh’s outstanding advocacy for justice in Liberia and the protection of fellow lawyers in the discharge of their duties. The lawyer maintained that, considering these positive attributes, he has no regret siding with Sayeh in the up-coming election, and promised to stand with him to the end.

In another letter of endorsement written to Cllr. Sayeh, a lawyer in Margibi County pointed out that the candidate is the most reliable person they can trust with the leadership of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) at the moment. The letter emphasized that any attempt to sideline the eloquent and experienced lawyer in the election will only increase the division in the bar and make lawyers vulnerable.
Similar statements of support for Cllr. Sayeh were expressed verbally as the candidate toured the nation to meet supporters in their respective counties.

Followers in Montserrado, Margibi, Bong and Nimba counties reportedly turned out in their numbers to meet with Cllr. Sayeh during his campaign trail, and assured him of their fullest support and cooperation.
Speaking to the Hot Pepper during his campaign tour, Cllr. Wiefueh Alfred Sayeh assured his supporters that he will live up to their expectation through honesty and a transparent administration.

He noted that, if elected President of the bar he will use his vast experience to ensure that lawyers perform their duties diligently without fear of harassment or intimidation from authorities.
Cllr. Sayeh’s growing popularity among electorate just ahead of the election is said to have placed him in a comfortable lead over his two rivals.
