China-Liberia Friendship Organization, established to reveal China’s continued development agenda in Liberia (which range from infrastructure to human empowerment), is poised to offer free medical service to citizens of the JJY Community along the Japan Freeway.

The pronouncement of the free medical service to financially-constrained residents of the JJY community was made on Sunday by the China-Liberia Friendship Organization’s President, Siafa D. Sherif, in the community.

President Sherif, along with the organization’s general secretary, the press attaché of the Chinese embassy, Wang Yueqi, and others visited the JJY community and had an in-door program with the community’s chairman and citizens in a church around the mosque.

The organization’s community engagement is intended for every community to feel China’s development impact in Liberia and consider China as reliant for development.

The community’s chairman, on behalf of the residents, expressed joy for the organization’s leadership and the Chinese Ambassador’s representative visitation in the community, which he saw as a beacon of hope restoration and empowerment opportunity. As the event unfolded, the chairman expressed appreciation to the People’s Republic of China for their numerous development imprints in Liberia and the countless scholarships of the Chinese government that are benefiting Liberians.

However, in a despairing tone, the chairman outlined the following challenges the community faces, and appealed for them to be addressed by the China-Liberia Friendship Organization urgently. They ranged from youth and women empowerment, technical vocational school, to local and international scholarships for advanced knowledge, medication service, and so on.

“We will notify you people immediately when we leave from here when the Chinese free medical service will come to offer free service here again,” the organization’s President Sherif said in a hopeful tone.

Also speaking at the program, Chinese Ambassador’s Press Attache Yueqi said that the friendship between Liberia and China is sincere, adding that it is also a pragmatic cooperation between the two countries and is fruitful. He assured Liberians that in the future China will undertake more cooperative projects in Liberia that will benefit everyone. He added that the Chinese embassy will strengthen the cooperation between the Liberia-China Friendship Origination and the JJY community for mutual benefits.
“I call for a continued long-lasting friendship between the two countries. I thank you (Mr. Sherif) for your effort to introduce more Liberians to China,” he observed.

In a grateful tone, Sherif said a lot of Liberians are in China benefiting from scholarships. He disclosed that thousands are on free scholarships through the Liberian government and the Chinese government. He added that the Chinese people believe in fulfilling the proverb: “teach you how to fish rather than you always asking them for fish”.

For the development record, China constructed Fendel University of Liberia Campus, Health Ministry, Monrovia Vocational School, and so on.
