The Executive Director of the Joseph Nyumah Boakai Foundation, Jackson George, has emphasized the urgent need for increased support for the health sector.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, George said on his tour in Grand Bassa, Margibi, Bong, and Lofa he identified critical issues affecting healthcare facilities in these regions.

George expressed JNB Foundation’s commitment to extending its services beyond Montserrado County, with a focus on healthcare and education in underserved areas.

According to him, many clinics and hospitals are severely lacking in essential equipment and supplies necessary for effective healthcare delivery.

“The government cannot address every challenge the country faces, and so the Joseph Nyumah Boakai Foundation is committed to actively contributing to solutions for the pressing issues in the health sector,” he stated.

Speaking during the 80th birthday celebration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Executive Director George outlined the organization’s impactful contributions to national development.

“The foundation has positively transformed the lives of many Liberians,” George said.

“We have distributed medical equipment to hospitals in Montserrado and other counties, provided books and beds to students and awarded scholarships to those in need,” he explained.

George expressed gratitude to the Foundation’s partners, stakeholders, and donors, emphasizing their pivotal role in advancing the vision of President Boakai.

As a gesture of appreciation for the President’s contributions to Liberia, government officials presented a US$150,000 donation to support the Foundation’s on-going programs.

Reflecting on the establishment of the JNB Foundation in 2018, shortly after his defeat in the 2017 elections, George emphasized the organization’s purpose.

“The Foundation was founded to promote the well-being of ordinary Liberians,” he said, and encouraged young people to remain determined and take ownership of their future.
