VP Koung Advocates for Stronger Ties Among Bong, Lofa, G/Gedeh & Nimba

Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung has called for unity among the four counties of Nimba, Bong, Lofa, and Grand Gedeh as they celebrate the 60th anniversary of their county status in Liberia.

In meetings with varied groups of citizens from these counties, VP Koung urged them to move beyond past grievances and foster support that promotes national unity.

He emphasized that there is a divine purpose for placing these four counties side by side and granting them county status in 1964.

The Vice President stated, “If we come together as one family and embrace our love for one another, we can overcome the negative perceptions of the past.”

The 60th anniversary celebration is uniting traditional leaders, community members, government officials, and international development partners from the four counties.

This two-day event highlights the historical and developmental progress these counties have made since achieving county status in 1964.
