The Coalition of Youths and Students for Better Liberia (COYSBL) say they strongly condemn and denounce plans by some unscrupulous media practitioners to engage into malicious blackmail and spew fake propaganda against the Director General of the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Dewitt vonBallmoos.

According to COYSBL, the plan by these individuals in the name of exposing corruption is the usual fabrications and lies being told by media crooks intended to defame the character of vonBallmoos and undermine his mammoth achievements at NASCCORP.

The Coalition of Youths and Students for Better Liberia described the allegation as not only false and misleading, but a fake story by some well-known media blackmailer that the Director General of the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation, vonBallmoos, is linked to money laundering and illicit financing transactions with Diego Pol. The group said it is irrational and inconsistent for these media rascals to render the project for the construction of the headquarters of NASCORP as a form of money laundering and illicit financing. “Investigation conducted by COYSBL reveals that the construction of the NASCCORP Headquarters, located 24th Street, Sinkor, began in 2015 by CEASF Liberia Limited, legally contracted for the project. This company is a legally registered company in Liberia with history of being awarded high profile real estate construction projects that were well constructed. CEASF Liberia Limited is the company that constructed the new Central Bank Building, the LFA Headquarters, the Scoreboard at the ATS; the renovation works on the Executive Mansion, among others. So, the insinuation that Mr. vonBallmoos is into illicit financing transactions with the Italian, Diego Pol of CESAF Liberia Limited is a blackmailing attempt intended to extort money from these two reputable personalities,” a COYSBL release stated.

“The Coalition of Youths and Students for Better Liberia believes that it is highly disingenuous and unfair for some misguided individuals and dishonest journalists to continuously draw out misinformation and lies against Mr. vonBallmoos who has distinguished himself as Liberia’s most accomplished and professional public administrator. Apart from ensuring that NASSCORP regularly contributes to the National Budget, Mr. vonBallmoos has brought tremendous transformations to the corporation in many ways. The Construction of a modern multi-story and multi-million dollar state-of-the-art headquarters for the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) on 24th Street in 2019 by Diego Pol’s CESAF through legally established processes for project construction in government is just one of the list of the Director General’s many achievements. The Construction and establishment of the Jamale Medical Diagnostic Center at ELWA Junction, Construction of the corporation’s regional offices, and the direct bank payment service to pension and retirement beneficiaries, are some Mr. vonBallmoos laudable accomplishments at NASSCORP.

“Consequently, the Coalition of Youths and Students for Better Liberia calls on those accusing the Director General of NASSCORP, Hon. Dewitt vonBallmoos, of money laundering to desist, and recognize the numerous contributions and transformation he has made as a renowned professional administrator. While we do not support corruption and bad governance, we will not sit idly and allow media miscreants to disgorge lies and falsehood consummate a result-oriented statesmen like Hon. Dewitt vonBallmoos,” the release noted.
