The Master Ogo Karate Temple recently organized a one-day karate tournament at Pottal Junior High School, Redlight, aimed at promoting the sport in the country.
The tournament, which was graced by several sportsmen and members of the Karate Federation, comprised of four (4) categories: Group A, Group B, Group C, and Cadet (children).
Participants put up an elaborate show, entertaining the audience and showcasing their talents.
For Group A, Roosevelt Albert emerged first winner, Abubakar Sawyer took second, and Abu Kenneh emerged third. For Group B, Chernor Nuhu Sow took the first-place title, Lamin Jalloh came in second, and Alhassan Jalloh emerged third winner.
In Group C, Hassan Gray emerged first winner, and Sam Gray came in second place. For the Cadet group, Abubakar Bah took first-place, Mohammed Bushriyu Bah came second, and Alhaji Amadu Bah finished third.
Meanwhile, the Technical Director of the Master Ogo Karate Temple, Mohammed Bah, has expressed gratitude to all who attended the one-day event, and congratulated the winners and participants. He called on parents and karate-interested individuals to make use of the opportunity, and to join the bandwagon in reviving the karate sports in Liberia.
According to Bah, under the auspices of the President of the Liberia Karate Federation, Etty Justin, Liberian youth were taken to Sierra Leone recently to participate in a tournament, where they won two gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze medal.
He disclosed that Liberia also had representations at a workshop held in Morrocco recently, and attended the Russia International Karate Tournament in November 2025.
