The National Insurance Corporation of Liberia (NICOL) has successfully concluded its participation in the 20th Annual International Seminar hosted by Ghana Reinsurance Company PLC at the Aqua Safari Resort from February 22–28, 2026.

The NICOL delegation was headed by its Acting Managing Director, Abdullah S. Swaray, who led the corporation’s engagement throughout the week-long seminar. Under his leadership, NICOL actively participated in technical sessions, panel discussions, and structured networking engagements aimed at strengthening underwriting expertise and claims management capacity.

Held under the theme, “Advanced Property Insurance Underwriting and Claims Management”, the seminar brought together over 100 insurance professionals from 12 African countries: Ghana, Gabon, Ethiopia, Sudan, Togo, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi, Liberia, Namibia, and Cameroon.

The program featured practical case studies, high-level panel discussions, and experience-sharing sessions designed to enhance professional competence in property risk underwriting and efficient claims administration. NICOL’s participation reinforced its commitment to adopting international best practices and strengthening technical capacity within Liberia’s insurance sector.

Speaking at the close of the seminar, Swaray emphasized that the knowledge gained would significantly improve NICOL’s underwriting discipline, risk pricing accuracy, and claims settlement processes. He reaffirmed the corporation’s dedication to building a resilient insurance industry capable of supporting national development and protecting public and private assets.

NICOL’s presence at the seminar further deepened its strategic relationship with Ghana Re and other key players across the African reinsurance market, positioning the corporation for stronger regional collaboration and enhanced service delivery.

As Liberia’s state-owned insurer, NICOL said it remains steadfast in its pursuit of professional excellence, regional integration, and sustainable growth in the insurance industry.
