The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Thomas P. Fallah, has called for unity among residents of Sugar Hill, Redlight and Frog Island in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
Deputy Speaker Fallah stated that unity is critical to foster growth and development in the community
Deputy Speaker made the statement Thursday at a homecoming festival held under the theme, “Together We Rise”, which brought together former residents, including the Deputy Speaker Fallah, back home in the Sugar Hill Redlight community.
He underscored the need to foster unity and reconciliation among the residents, which will go a long way to strengthen further collaboration among themselves to enhance a major developmental drive in their community.
He maintained that the young people should always sustain their relationship with one another, no matter their condition and situation in life because nobody knows tomorrow.
Deputy Speaker Fallah asserted that, living in the Sugar Hill Redlight community at the time, nobody could predict that he would be Deputy Speaker for the Republic of Liberia, but today he is the Deputy Speaker, so they should always maintain good friendship.
According to him, it was not easy when he started his political sojourn in 2005 but those hands he grew up in from the community were the people that opposed his political ambition at the time, and now they are saying that he is not looking back from where he came from or not helping some of his childhood friends, but they have forgotten about their action against him at the time.
He said the homecoming festival is timely for the people of Sugar Hill and Frog Island community to work together to move the community’s development forward.
Deputy Speaker Fallah underscored that it is about time that every family in Sugar Hill and Frog Island reconcile their differences and come together to transform the development of the community.
