The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND), a national civil society movement in Liberia, has described the senatorial aspirant of Bong County, Johnny Kanmue Kpehe, as a beacon of hope for many less fortunate people and struggling students who continue to benefit from his humanitarian endeavors.
In a press release issued Thursday, June 29, 2023, the Executive Director of MIND, Sekou D. Sonii, recalled the countless assistances aspirant Kpehe has rendered the residents of Montserrado and Bong counties over the years, impacting the lives of thousands amidst the glaring economic constraint.
The release quoted Sonii as saying, “Honorable Johnny Kpehe is one in a million—his generosity is immeasurable. With the many years we have interacted with Honorable Kpehe, we can vouch for his kindheartedness, generosity and love for humanity.”
According to the release, Kpehe has impacted the growth of the economy as well as the nation’s infrastructure development through his many investments, ranging from establishing hotel facilities, restaurants and water factories to establishing security firms and farms. “Honorable Kpehe, in addition to his humanitarian gestures, has hundreds of Liberians under his employ, who, in turn, are capacitated to provide food for their homes, pay medical bills and send their children to school,” Sonii stated.
“In addition to his humanity personality,” the release added, “Honorable Kpehe has an excellent leadership ability, coupled with a track record of being transparent and accountable.”
The MIND release explained that Kpehe has an enviable record at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), where he served the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and helped generate lawful revenues for the Government of Liberia (GOL).
According to MIND’s Executive Director, because of Kpehe’s humanitarian background and the many tangible contributions to the Liberian society, his group is in full support of Kpehe’s senatorial bid in Bong County.
Sonii stated that, if the people of Bong County rally their support behind Kpehe for the Senate in the 2023 general and presidential elections, the county could achieve the development growth the people have long yearned for.
He noted that Kpehe has been part of the Bong development team for many years, working tirelessly to make it a better place through manpower development, the creation of learning institutions and scholarship provisions at undergraduate institutions in the county.
However, the MIND boss pointed out that Kpehe cannot win the race without the support of the masses, thereby calling on the people of Bong to rally their support behind a candidate who has meant well even before he received the mandate of the people to contest for the senatorial seat of the county.
He used the opportunity to remind the people of Bong that the interest of the county comes first, and that from all indications Kpehe has proved to be in the interest of the county and its people.
