Amb. Juli Endee Urges Liberians To  Maintain The Peace

The Liberia crusaders for Peace (LCP) has called on Liberians to maintained the hard-earned peace they are enjoying today, recalling that on June 3, 2003 Liberians and other stakeholders went to Accra, Ghana, to find a lasting solution to the civil crisis.

   Speaking at the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing on August 11, 2022, Ambassador Endee said the Comprehensive Accra Peace Accord was signed among eighteen registered political parties, the government of Liberia, all civil society groups and international organization.

   According to her, the conference lasted for more than three months due to the importance of the discussions, which were held under the dynamic Chairmanship of His Excellency Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, former Head of State of Nigeria.

   Ambassador Endee noted that, since the signing of the CPA, Liberia has produced two outstanding presidents: Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and George manneh Weah. She named the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, and President Weah as signatory witnesses to the CPA.

   Ambassador Endee emphasized that peace has superseded the 14-year civil war, and that Liberia has greatly achieved over the years; as such, the peace should be maintained.

   She said the LCP continue to commemorate the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) through Kukatornon peace festivals, held on August 18 of each year, with appreciate activities such as visitation to the mosques and churches, women conference on UN resolution and security.

   Meanwhile, the Liberia Crusaders for Peace (LCP) has condemned all forms of violence in Liberia as well as other African countries and the world at large.
