The former Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, Ministry of Information, during the administration of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Isaac W. Jackson, has accepted to become the official spokesman of the upcoming July 17, 2025 protest being organized by “We The People” Movement, headed by Mulbah K. Morlu.
Jackson, in his acceptance statement, vowed that “President Joseph N. Boakai, as a rule-of-law deviant, will definitely face the people’s wrath. His position is now untenable, and as such, his incompetent Minister of Justice cannot stop the people’s determination to restore respect for the rule of law to Liberia.”
Recently, the organizing committee of the planned July 17th “Enough is Enough” Protest officially announced the appointment of Atty. Isaac W. Jackson, Jr. as the official spokesman for the “We The People” Movement.
he group referred to Atty. Jackson as a seasoned legal practitioner, fearless patriot, and longtime advocate for democratic reform. They say with over two decades of unwavering commitment to Liberia’s democratic advancement and social justice, he brings a formidable wealth of experience to this critical national cause. “His legacy as a leading voice for accountability, the rule of law, and the rights of ordinary citizens stands as a beacon for the type of Liberia we envision—a country grounded in equity, justice, and integrity,” the group stated.
As Official Spokesman, Atty. Jackson is expected to lead public engagement, articulate the vision of the July 17th protest, and represent the unified voice of thousands of Liberians demanding transformative change.
According to the organizers, the protest aims to demand full accountability from President Joseph Boakai and his administration; compel the President to respect the authority of the Supreme Court of Liberia; restore the rule of law in the Legislature, free of external interference, including the arbitrary meddling exerted by President Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Koung; call for an end to systemic corruption and abuse of public trust; advocate for the restoration of equal justice under the law; promote economic empowerment and inclusive development for all Liberians; and advocate for adequate and free healthcare for impoverished Liberians.
The protest also aims to advocate for justice, dignity, and equal opportunity for all marginalized and underrepresented groups, including motorbike and “kehkeh” riders, civil servants, healthcare workers, petty traders, street vendors, market women, wrongfully dismissed civil servants, victims of unlawful demolitions, and survivors of police brutality.
The group then congratulated Atty. Isaac W. Jackson, and asserted that his leadership will be instrumental as they prepare for a landmark day in the nation’s history—a day when the people will rise to say “enough is enough”.
