The Secretary of the Liberian Senate, J. Nanborlor Singbeh, has issued a public alert about fraudulent letters being circulated in the name of the Senate.

Addressing a press conference on March 20, 2025, Senate Secretary Singbeh informed the public of certain individuals who are falsely presenting themselves as authorities of the Liberian Senate, thereby writing individuals to solicit funds.

The Senate Secretary asserted that a letter in his possession, dated February 12, 2025, wherein unscrupulous individuals presenting themselves as officials of the Liberian Senate requested to one Christopher J. Nippy to pay an amount of US$6,000 for confirmation proceedings.

He emphasized that these letters, purportedly bearing the Senate’s endorsement, are entirely fake and do not originate from the Liberian Senate.

He urged the public to exercise caution and verify any such communications directly with the Senate’s official offices.

Meanwhile, Secretary Singbeh added that authorities of the National Security Agency have been duly notified to ensure investigation is conducted into the matter.

He has, however, reassured the public of the Senate’s commitment to transparency in all nomination and confirmation processes, underscoring that the process of confirmation is the sole Constitutional duty of the Senate’s and at no time would that honorable body solicit money to perform its Constitutional responsibility.
