All participating teams have been supplied necessary materials including sets of jerseys, footballs, and other sports gadgets by ArcelorMittal Liberia for a successful and entertaining tournament.

Head of Government and Community Relations, Marcus Wleh said he was excited and looking forward to the kickoff of the maiden edition of the AML Cup, which he described as a worthy investment that will further unite residents of AML mining communities, promote peace and social cohesion and cement AML’s relations with its community stakeholders in the three counties.

“This has been long coming, but we at ArcelorMittal Liberia have also believed that sport is a powerful tool to help unite our people and promote peace and development.”

Wleh said the launch of the AML Cup is another way of demonstrating ArcelorMittal Liberia’s commitment to developing the talents of young Liberians and promoting sports in the country.

He said ArcelorMittal Liberia has a long history of partnership and support to sports promotion in Liberia, referencing the company’s regular support to national events like the annual County Sports Meet, the Liberia Marathon, and others.
