Three months after the launch of the Orange Banjoo Mega Promotion, Orange Liberia has announced the close of the promotion for 2021 and has presented thousands of dollars in cash and prizes to various winners. The prize presentation was done at a major press conference held at the company’s Capital By-pass headquarters on October 29, 2021.

Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Orange Liberia, Julien Paquier, congratulated the winners for their participation over the last three months. He emphasized that the prize presentation was being held publicly and before a live media audience because Orange values transparency in its prize promotion.  “We are the one company that you can always count on to be transparent and to show the world that real people are always winning real prizes from Orange,” said Paquier.

Orange’s subscribers were able to participate in the competition by sending a text message with the word, “Banjoo”, to 6161 to be enrolled in the promotion.  Once enrolled, customers immediately began receiving quiz questions and for each question answered correctly receive 100 points. Paquier said that, even if a customer missed the answer of one of the questions, they still received 50 points. During the course of the promotion, participating customers were eligible to win the daily, weekly, monthly prizes as well as the grand prize.

During the event, Noosevett Weah, who serves as Media Relations Manager, Sales & Marketing at Orange Liberia, joined Julien Paquier to present prizes to the winners.

Winners of the US$50 cash prize were Ralph Wilson, Zolkounwon Luogon and Marcella Renee Lassanah.   Other winners of the smart phones were Benjamin C. Soko, Thompson Darsaw and Edwin Syllah.

Prize winner, Benjamin C. Sumo, expressed his happiness but said that he had set his eyes on winning the vehicle. “I had really been hoping to win the vehicle,” Sumo confided, “but I still have hope because I am participating in the on-going Orange Zagga Christmas promotion and am hopeful that I will win either the car or the house.”

In addition to the winners of the cash and phones, Morris Fofana walked away with a 43-inch smart television.

The grand prize winner, Gayflor G. Willie, who drove away with a 2021 Renault Logan vehicle from Orange, expressed his happiness and appreciation to Orange Liberia for making his dream a reality.

An excited Willie said, “This is one of the happiest days of my life because during these difficult times, for somebody to give you anything, let alone a brand new vehicle, seems impossible,  but today Orange has made the impossible possible.”

He explained that when he first received the call from Orange Liberia that he was the winner of the vehicle, he was skeptical. “I was apprehensive at first,” stated Willie, but when I walked into the Orange office I realized it was a reality and the joy overwhelmed me. Like most other Liberians, I was skeptical like Saul, but today I am now Paul.”

Although the Banjoo Mega promotion has come to a close, Paqueir encouraged customers to participate in the Orange Zagga Promotion for the chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes and the grand prize of a vehicle and a house.

Announcing the launch of the Orange Zagga Promotion a few days ago, Arrianna George, Marketing Supervisor for Orange Money Liberia, said that she was “super excited” about the 2021 Zagga campaign. She explained that, as in previous years, there would be a daily winner who would be able to participate in the weekly shopping cart race competition held at Harbel Supermarket. She stated that, at the end of each week, the seven winners would be taken to either Harbel, Stop & Shop, or ERA Supermarket where they would have 60 seconds to load whatever they could in a cart. “Whatever you can put in your shopping basket (except for alcohol or Hukkas) in that timeframe will be yours to take home,” George said.

George elaborated that, in addition to the daily winners, there would also be a weekly “global” winner, who would also be randomly selected by the computer. The weekly winner would be called to the company’s headquarters to receive one of the hundreds of additional prizes, including the vehicle, and a wide range of home appliances, including television sets, generators, air conditioners, fans, rice cookers, and more.

She explained that any Orange Money transaction done by a customer would automatically enter the draw. “Every time you do any transaction with Orange Money, be it purchasing credits or data, sending or receiving money, bank to wallet, and merchant payments you are entered into the raffle, and the more times you perform a transaction, the more times you are entered into the raffle. The more times you are entered into the raffle, the greater the chances you can win,” said George.

Orange Acknowledged that during the launch of its promotion, scam artists tried to steal from unsuspecting customers, and reiterated that Orange would only call winners from the telephone number 0778111222, and Orange would never ask customers for anything in return to claim their prize.
