Thirty officers of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) are undergoing four days of intensive free, rapid drug testing training conducted by the medical team from the Africa Union Trading Company (AUTC) Incorporated in Liberia.
According to information gathered, the on-going rapid drug testing training was organized to help the LDEA officers understand the different kinds of drugs and their effects on victims, as well as understanding human rights declarations’ violations at various rehab centers operating in Liberia.
The four-day intensive rapid drug-testing training also focuses on recognition of narcotic substances and prevention as it relates to the company’s nationwide drug-testing initiative.
LDEA officers are learning how to conduct rapid drug testing in 13 substances, to include marijuana, cocaine amphetamines, heroin, opioids, among others.
This on-going rapid drug-testing training is a rapid drug test similar to MTT test, and does not require laboratory.
Speaking, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Africa Union Trading Company (AUTC), Eric Twum, expressed his company’s readiness to support the Government of Liberia (GOL) in the fight against narcotic substances in Liberia.
According to him, the in-process training for LDEA officers is part of his company’s nationwide drug eradication initiative across Liberia.
Africa Union Trading Company (AUTC) was the institution that recently conducted the medical testing for candidates of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS).
