BMMC Committed ToDeliverables; Senior Official Manager Says
Following a tour with the Deputy Minister of Labor, Steven Saah Kolubah, over the weekend along with senior managers of Bea Mountain Mining Company (BMMC) to inspect work at the mines, the Government and Community Relations Manager, Alpaslan Ozbilge, said they are committed to deliver the number of projects they have embarked on. Some of the projects include the construction of roads, hand pumps, among others. This was disclosed to reporters over the weekend in Kinjor, Grand Cape Mount County.
Ozbilge said as a company they know their corporate social responsibility, and will work within that framework to ensure it becomes successful. He added that theywanted to show to the government the areas they would want to carry out the projects for the affected communities.
For his part, the Labor Minister said, as a government they were prepared to work with all investors in the country for the benefit of the citizens and the companies. He underscored that things need to be done for everyone.
Also speaking, the Chairman for the Resettlement program, Lansana Sambola, said he was happy to see the government’s delegation working hand in hand with the BMMC.
“We feel happy when we see them working together. We feel fine. That is the way things should be. Once they are working in line with the agreement, all will be fine. The government is there to protect us and the investors too.”
