Affected mining communities in Grand Cape Mount County have received rice donations from the management of the Bea Mountain Mining Corporation.

The management, through its Community Relations Superintendent, said the donation was part of the institution’s way of identifying with the affected mining communities during these celebrations.
Isaac Sasraku said, “Season times, we always identify with the affected communities. Honorable Superintendent, as a regular routine rioting, we always share our profit with the community. And so, management has deemed it necessary to give you 170 bags for Kinjor Community.”

According to him, the donation of the rice extends to Jenneh Brown, Weajue, Gold Camp, Jawajeh, Jikandor Nobleman, among others.

He acknowledged the peace and togetherness the company and the mining community are enjoying.
“Let’s keep on this path because the company has many good things to do for the community,” he told the citizens of Kinjor and all other communities that received the rice donation from the company.

Receiving the rice from BMMC, Lasana K. Sambola, Chairperson of RAP, expressed appreciation to BMMC for the rice on behalf of those who were relocated from the original Kinjor. He said they appreciated the donation given them by the company.

“We agreed that the mine is our friend, and we need to work together with them,” Sambola said.
According to him, years back they were receiving little amount of rice but it has increased to 170 bags, stating that it is their hope that more of their citizens will get employment with the company.
