The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of one of Liberia’s successful microfinance loan enterprises, Bukonjadeh Group of companies, Elton Datee Johns, is cautioning the electorate, particularly young people of voting age, not to allow themselves to be manipulated by power greed and selfish politicians with a few dollars or cups of rice to vote for their respective presidential candidates come November 14, 2023’s run-off election.

He added that, even though Liberians are living in a gullible society wherein most people can be easily carried away by greedy politicians for little or nothing because of abject poverty to sell their voting rights, the youthful generation should rise above such manipulation.

Johns maintained that the entire world is keenly watching all Liberians as the November 14 run-off election comes closer. “Let the electorate turn out on that date and vote wisely for our country. Let all of us not revert to the darkest days of the past and put Liberia first and last, because it is the only country that we have,” Johns intoned.

He challenged members of the fourth estate (press) to remain professional in their reporting on the November 14 electoral process, and congratulated all presumptive winners of both Houses of the National Legislature on the October 10 election.

The Bukonjadeh Group further commended various civil society organizations, international observers and all those who were directly or indirectly involved in constant advocacy for a peaceful election, of which the Bukonjadeh Group is a part.
