The Bukonjadeh Group of Companies has commended President George Manneh Weah for appointing Diana Nebo as the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA).

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies, Elton D. Johns, the appointment of Nebo to one of the key positions in government demonstrates President Weah’s commitment to promoting Liberian women to strategic positions of the governance of the country.

Johns made the commendation Thursday in an exclusive interview with Hot Pepper in Monrovia.

He underscored that Nebo, as Acting Managing Director, has re-branded the National Port Authority (NPA) in recent time, but as Managing Director the transformation of the port could be prioritized.

He noted that the dredging of the port and modernizing it to allow bigger ships to enter will be given serious attention under Nebo’s watch.

Johns stated that the Freeport of Monrovia is the gateway to Liberia’s economy, and Nebo has served as Human Resource Director and understands the plight of the employees, who are the engine of the port.

He maintained that the port is key to the business community, and making accessibility effective will go a long way in enhancing further coordination.

Johns asserted that Nebo has a lot of experience to improve the Freeport of Monrovia to meet international standard. He emphasized that President Weah’s empowerment of women in Liberia has been enhanced by the Feminist-in-Chief President.

Nebo is the second woman who has been appointed to serve as a Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA) in postwar Liberia.
