On September 27, 2024 the Chinese embassy in Liberia held the reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

More than 400 people attended the reception, including Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Sylvester M. Grigsby, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Cllr. Deweh E. Gray, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs, and other dignitaries and people from all walks of life, the diplomatic corps, representatives of Chinese enterprises and institutions, and Chinese in Liberia.

In his speech, Ambassador Yin Chengwu reviewed the development achievements of the People’s Republic of China over the past 75 years, promoted the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, and introduced the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Ambassador Chengwu expressed China’s willingness to work with Liberia to actively implement the strategic consensus reached by the two heads of state and continuously lift the China-Liberia strategic partnership to new levels.

On behalf of Liberia, Vice President Koung and Minister Grigsby extended National Day congratulations to the Chinese government and people, spoke highly of China’s development achievements, thanked China for its support for Liberia’s development, and reiterated their firm commitment to the one-China principle and to promoting friendly cooperation between Liberia and China.
