The Chinese Embassy in Liberia held a reception for celebrating the 105th anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). More than 200 people were invited to the reception, including H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, and other government officials.
Speaking during the program, Ambassador Yin Chengwu reviewed the glorious journey and achievements of the CPC over the past 105 years since its founding.
According to him, the CPC places great emphasis on party building, upholds a people-centered approach, adheres to the principle of independence, and has successfully forged a development path suited to China’s national conditions.
He said the CPC stands ready to work with all countries and their political parties to enhance the people’s well-being, explore paths toward modernization, promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
He said the CPC reaffirmed their commitment to the one-China principle, and pledged to actively support the continued advancement of the China-Liberia strategic partnership.
At the same time, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai reaffirmed Liberia’s unwavering commitment to the One-China Policy while commending China’s remarkable development and its long-standing partnership with Liberia.
President Boakai said the founding of the Communist Party of China in July 1921 as the beginning of a remarkable chapter in world history, noting that over the past 105 years China has transformed itself from a nation facing immense challenges into one of the world’s leading economies and a major contributor to global peace and development.
He further said China’s visionary leadership, long-term planning, and unwavering commitment to national development will highlight the country’s success in lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty.
He further praised the CPC’s commitment to advancing science and technology, modernizing infrastructure, and improving the living standards of its citizens, and thanked China for its constructive role in promoting international peace, economic cooperation, and sustainable development in Liberia.
President Boakai emphasized that Liberia and China continue to enjoy a relationship built on mutual respect, solidarity, and shared aspirations for prosperity.
“Liberia’s foreign policy position declared that Liberia remains firmly committed to the One-China Policy, recognizing the People’s Republic of China as the sole legitimate government representing all of China. He said this principled position remains the cornerstone of Liberia-China relationship. The President also acknowledged China’s support to Liberia during critical periods, including the 2014 Ebola epidemic and the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as its contributions to hospitals, schools, technical assistance, and other development projects.
