Contec Global Turns Over Vehicles And Motorbikes To LIS

Contec Global, an international based company operating in Liberia, has turned over brand new motorbikes and vehicles to authorities of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) to enhance its digitized alien resident permit project across the country.

Contec Global was awarded a contract by the Government of Liberia (GOL) in 2021 to digitize Liberia’s alien resident permit. Countries in the region are already operating digitized based system for immigration formatives. Contec Global was contracted by the government following a competitive tender process for both alien resident permit and work permit services by the Public Procurement and Concession Committee (PPCC) to operate digitized resident permit for the alien community.

For her part, Veronica Monte, Head of Business Development, Contec Global, noted that the items turned over from Contec Global’s fleet was meant to address some of the challenges confronting reaching out to the alien community in Liberia. She expressed her company’s willingness to work with the LIS in addressing issues confronting the forward march of the LIS.

Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Liberia, expressed thanks and appreciation to Contec Global for the items to enhance LIS’ digitized alien resident permit.

For his part, the Chairman on National Security of the House of Representatives, Musu Bility, praised Contec Global for providing the digitized alien resident permit initiative support across the country. He spoke of the importance of protecting Liberia’s borders and the free movement of ECOWAS citizens, among others.

For his part, the Commissioner General (CG) of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Atty. Stephen Zargo, praised his institution’s partner for the items turned over to the LIS. He noted that the items were timely, and will be used for the intended purpose.

A representative from Ecobank Liberia also pledged the bank’s continued support to Contec Global.

The turning over ceremony of Contec Global’s fleet was well attended by officials of the government, all LIS deputy commissioner generals and officials, among others.
