In an Executive Committee meeting of the Council of Patriots (CoP), held on June 6, 2021, a decision was unanimously reached to remove as Vice Chairman for Administration Menipakei Dumoe, who was also the Acting Chairman in the absence of Chairman Henry P. Costa, due to his apparent lack of interest in the Council of Patriots.

According to a press release, the CoP derived the decision based on the following: that for the past five months, as Acting Chairman of the CoP in Liberia, Dumoe did not attend any Executive Committee meetings of the CoP or report to the Executive Committee (EC) on his activity as Acting Chairman on the ground; that when the Executive Committee wrote to Dumoe a few weeks ago to officially inquire from him as to his delinquency, he published the letter on Facebook making derisive or ridiculous comments about it, to which the CoP took serious exception; and that Dumoe has show a total lack of interest in all CoP activities without any explanation why.

In view of these counts, the release said, “The Executive Committee of the CoP wants to openly declare and inform all of its members and the general public that the position of Vice Chairman for Administration within the COP is hereby vacant, and Mr. Dumoe is no longer occupying said position within our organization. We wish Mr. Dumoe well in his present and future endeavors.”

The Executive Committee, according to the release, has elected to appoint as Acting Chairman, with immediate effect, Anthony S. Tengbeh, Sr., who is currently the Vice Chairman for Operation of the CoP.

“VCO Tengbeh will act as Chairman in close concert with Chairman Henry P. Costa, to provide guidance and leadership for the nation’s leading pressure group,” the release noted.
