–Wants Him To Face LACC Corruption Investigation

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Liberia (COCSOL) has welcomed the on-going investigation of Ansu Dulleh, Executive Director of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) for alleged acts of corruption and financial irregularities. The LACC on Monday, March 17, 2025 invited the NDMA’s Executive Director for investigation regarding his alleged misapplication of public funds intended for disaster relief programs.

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Liberia has urged the LACC to take the investigation seriously, as this alleged corruption hindered the NDMA from making interventions to disaster victims during the 2024 budget year. In a release, the Civil Society Network of Liberia stated, “The Executive Director of the National Disaster Management Agency, Ansu Dulleh, was involved into a series of financial malpractices at the agency through his mismanagement of funds allotted in the 2024 national budget for disaster relief programs and disaster support funds from partners. Dulleh is accused of providing false reports on the NDMA’s 2024 achievements, wherein he listed achievements of past government as his administration’s achievements at the agency. This is fraudulent and is dishonesty to the core. The NDMA’s Executive Director allegedly mismanaged over US$741,000.00 allotted for goods and services for disaster response activities. This alleged significant act of corruption led to the NDMA’s failure to respond to disaster incidents, including flood, during the 2024 national budget year.”

Furthermore, the CSO coalition also named the alleged mismanagement of L$1 million for Rivercess landslide response; US$100,000 for emergency response; US$1.5 million for dollar flood relief in affected communities; US$500,000 from the Liberian government for flood response as some of the funds allegedly corrupted by the NDMA management. The group also accused Dulleh of falsely reporting achievements of past government as the agency’s achievements in the NDMA’s 2024 performance report.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Liberia has urged the LACC to take the Dulleh investigation seriously, as the alleged act of corruption has denied the Government of Liberia (GOL) from making interventions om behalf of disaster victims. The CSO group concluded by calling on President Joseph Boakai to suspend Ansu Dulleh from the NDNA while he undergoes investigation to preserve the credibility and transparency of the investigation.
