Andrew Anderson, husband or former husband of Lorraine D. Anderson, who has been a media figure for the past few days for allegedly assaulting his fiancรฉe, has opened up and termed Lorraine’s allegation not only as false and misleading but intended to defame his character and portray him as violent to the public.

ย ย  Explaining his ordeal to newsmen on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, Andrew said it all started about a year ago when Lorraine started coming home late, which he later realized was due to her extra marital affairs with a guy, Habakkuk Watara Sackor. He said he talked to her about it, but she would not listen.

He said, โ€œI came today to tell the Liberian people the truth and everything that has been going on up to where we are. This whole incident started as far as a year ago. My ex-wife has taken to social and mainstream media to blackmail me and to destroy my hard-earned character that I have built over the years after she got involved with extra marital affair. It started back in February 2021, and the person sheโ€™s into the affairs with is Mr. Habakkuk Watara Sackor, who is still a married man but lives apart from his wife. He has been a nightmare in my life and the life of my children.

โ€œMy wife started coming home very late hours at nightโ€”1:00 to 2:00 a.m., and thatโ€™s how it started. I got concerned and tried to talk to her about what was going on. She would leave like every day, leaving the children all by themselves and telling them that sheโ€™s going for a party or some get-togetherโ€”from Monday to Sunday. I left the country in April for an assignmentโ€ฆwhen I got back she left the house for three days without telling us about her whereabouts. She came back home, and thatโ€™s when the real problem started.

โ€œI tried to really find out what was really going on, to an extent that I even got my pastor involved. And you will not even believe: in the presence of my pastor my wife admitted that she has an affair with another man and that we should give her time. This happened on Sunday. On Tuesday, she told me that the car I bought for her was giving problem and she was at the garage on 19th Street. I decided to leave my office to go and help her. I got there but she had left. I called her number but she didnโ€™t pick my calls, so I decided to leave for home. That was around 5:30 p.m. On 18th Street, where WASH office is, I saw her car parked and I got concerned. And so I parked and decided to call her, and she said she was in a meeting, but I didnโ€™t tell her that I left my office. While waiting, I saw her coming out of the building with Habakkukโ€”at the time I didnโ€™t know him. I decided to stick around, and to my surprise my wife stayed up to 9p.m., came out of the building, entered Habakkukโ€™s car and they drove to his house. I drove behind them in disguise and parked the car, saw them enter his house, called her number but she didnโ€™t pick up the phone, and so I drove home.

โ€œShe came home after 1:00 a.m. When I confronted her and told her that I saw her with another man going to his house, all she said to me was, โ€˜Soโ€ฆwhat do I care if you see me with another man?โ€™ I tried talking to her, but she got very aggressive. The next day, she packed her things and left the house. I decided to find out who this man was. I got his number and called him and pleaded with him to leave my wife alone; in return, he insulted me. So I took a formal complaint to the police.โ€

He continued, โ€œOn a Friday my wife came to me that she had a church program on Sunday, and that she wanted to borrow my car to attend the program in Gbarnga, which I did, and assigned the driver with her because it was a pickup. On Sunday, she dressed up in church clothes and left. About 9 oโ€™clock, I called her but her phone was not ringing. So I decided to call the driver who told me that he took her to the airport and she left with an early morning flight, and that he was making his way back home. This was on June 27.โ€

According to him, he traced her through the airlines, and realized that she left on ASKY with a one-way ticket to Ghana along with Habakkuk.

In a synopsis, he said he followed her to Ghana, along with their son and a neighbor. He said the Ghanaian police got involved with the matter, charged Habakkuk with kidnap and declared her missing. He said they later found her but agreed to return on the condition that she will not come back with them, which he agreed to, in an attempt to unite his family in his and their childrenโ€™s interest.

He said when she came back, she refused to live with them in his house, but he appealed to her and promised to even leave the house if that was what she wanted because he was about to travel, again, on an assignment. He said she agreed, but promised to come when he leaves.

โ€œWhile away, my children called me and informed me that their mom would spend a night or two with them and leave for two or three days. So I had to call the nurse to go to the house to take care of the children,โ€ he explained.

He said Habakkuk later filed a complaint against him to the court that he had threatened his life, and that was when he got his lawyers involved. According to him, the court heard the case but found no merit in it, and so the judge dismissed it, at which time he, too, file a lawsuit against him for US$150,000 damages, and the court found him guilty. He noted that his wife got furious and filed a divorce action, which was granted by the court on October 4, 2022. Also, he said, because of his ex-wifeโ€™s violence, the Juvenile Court ruled that she was allowed to see their children only on the second and last Saturday of every month until the Civil Law Court can make a determination in the matter relating to which one of them will be in possession of the children.

He said on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in defiance of the courtโ€™s order, Lorraine went to his house and demanded that she would see her children, and no one dare stop her. He said the neighbors called him, and so he left his office and went home, where he met her and she started a fistfight with him, hitting him in the face and damaging his glasses. He said he retaliated in self-defense, and the neighbors intervened and took her out of the yard.

He disclosed that Lorraine has filed another lawsuit against him at the Paynesville City Court, and the hearing is expected to begin today.

It can be recalled that Lorraine Dunn Anderson has accused Andrew Anderson of being in the constant habit of beating her and showing off that nobody can do anything to himโ€”that he is a big government official who is untouchable and no one can do anything to him.

โ€œMy husband always shows off that nobody can do anything to him, and heโ€™s this big government official that is untouchable and no one can do him anything,โ€ she is quoted as saying. She claimed that she filed a divorce action against him in February 2022 due to his alleged violent behavior.
