The newly inducted Chieftaincy of Ibagwa Nike Kingdom of Enugu State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief  Dr. Williams  Deiyaan Towah, has called on members of the Economic Community  of West African States ( ECOWAS) for a high level of cultural diversity to be displayed among member states in the West African sub-region.

Chief Towah made the statement during the program making his official coronation as Chieftaincy of Ibagwa Nike Kingdom recently.

Chief Towah stated that cultural diversity helps dispel stereotypes and personal biases about different groups, especially within the West African sub-region.

“It is a hallmark to effect community development programs,” he told the jubilant crowed at the event.

Chief Towah, also the Director of Administration and Finance at ECOWAS Court of Justice, noted that this will help recognize and respect ways of coexistence that are not necessarily from a specific religion, tribe and country, but meant to interact with other regions that can navigate and build bridges to trust, respect and understand each other’s culture.

The newly inducted Chief of Ibagwa Nike Kingdom of Enugu State in Nigeria also recounted the relationship between Liberia  and Nigeria.

According to him, Nigeria played an important role within the history of Liberia when it comes to peace, stability and other developments undertaken in Liberia.

At the just-ended ceremony, Nigerian Union of Journalists from the Southeastern Chapter presented an accolade to Dr. Towah for what they termed as his immense services to community development programs in Africa.

Chief Dr. Towah was recently inducted into his chieftaincy title by His Highness, Dr. Emmanuel O. Ogwu, as son of the lgbo land and crowned as Chieftaincy “UGUMBA”.

Chief Dr. Towah is the second Liberian statesman, according to information gathered from Nigeria, to receive such a prestigious honor.

According to King Ogwu, the induction officer, the honor bestowed upon Dr. Towah is one of the highest honors within the Ibagwa Kingdom. He used the occasion to urge his fellow Africans to build a network of love and accept cultural diversity as the best way to effect goodies among member states.

The just-ended week-long celebration, official award and coronation ceremonies took place at the King’s Palace in Ibagwa Nike Kingdom Enugu State in Nigeria.
