Emmanuel Dahn Chides District #7’s Residents

Hundreds of residents of districts #7, Montserrado County, over the weekend stormed the Coconut Plantation beach to honor an invitation from an eminent resident of the district, Emmanuel Dahn; Henry K. Bestman reports.

   The residents who honored Dahn’s call used the opportunity to explain their plight to the philanthropist, craving for his support to improve their living condition.

  According to them, the priority on their needy list was a pit latrine, a school and a play ground for their children, as well as a hand pump, among others.

   Speaking to the mammoth crowd during the occasion, Emmanuel Dahn thanked them for remembering him during their time of need, and noted that as the 2023 general and presidential elections draw closer, the residents must shine their eyes and vote rightly.

   Dahn said this is the time when politicians will come to them because they want their votes, and urged them to think wisely in order to make the right decision at the 2023 polls.

  He told them that he was born in the district #7, and that during his childhood he faced hardship because his parents could not always afford. He said even his school fees could not be paid regularly by his parents, and so he had to jump from one school to another to be able to move forward in education sojourn.

  Dahn added that, now that God has blessed him, he tries every way possible to make the residents to live a better and happier life, disclosing that he feels pleased when he makes others happy, especially where he grew up as a child.

   According to him, he currently runs a school where the youth learn how to sew, built a hand pump for the people to be able to get safe-drinking water, a recreation center, a radio station and an ambulance that caters to the sick free of charge.

  He said, during non-election years, politicians will go home with their money, spend it on their families and girlfriends and forget about the masses, whom they only run to during election times.

  He then advised the residents to go out and acquire or look for a suitable vacant spot, negotiate with the owner of the spot in order to construction the latrines, the school and other things they are in need of, in order to make themselves happy.

  Dahn promised to always be with them during good and bad times.
