Executive Mansion Press Corps Elects New Code of Officers
Assigned journalists of the print and electronic media at the Executive Mansion covering the Liberian Presidency over the weekend elected a new code of officers to stir their affairs.
The Executive Mansion Press Corps (EMPC), members of both print and electronic, have been covering President George M. Weah’s affairs since his ascendancy.
In line with Article VIII of the Executive Mansion Press Corps’ constitution, the body on Friday, March 31, 2023 conducted its general election, empowering a chairperson, co-chairperson, secretary general, assistant secretary, financial secretary and chaplain.
The Chairperson-elect, Godfrey Badu Quansah, of Report 231 online medium, obtained 23 votes; the Co-Chairperson-elect, Anthony Jiffan, ABC radio, got 18 votes; the Secretary General-elect, Alvin Worzi, Daily Observer, obtained 24 votes; the Assistant Secretary post, Mathew Jacobs, APC, got 14 votes; Financial Secretary-elect, Richel G. Kollie, ELBC Radio, obtained 25 votes.
For the Spiritual post, which is chaplain, Ojuku Silver-tongue Kangar, Jr., Hot Pepper, obtained 25 votes.
A total of 174 ballot papers were printed; 29 ballot papers per the position contested for.
The electoral body therefore declared Godfrey Badu Quansah Chairperson, Anthony Jiffan, Co-Chairperson, Alvin Worzi Secretary General, Mathew Jacobs Assistant Secretary General, Richel G. Kollie, Financial Secretary General, and Ojuku Silver-tongue Kangar Jr., Chaplain General, as winners of 2023 Executive Mansion reporters’ election.
In an appreciative tone, the Chairperson of the ad-hoc election commission, Vivian Nah-Mulbah, congratulated all registered voters that turned out to vote for their peaceful deportment exhibited during the process.
In furtherance, the Commission expressed heartfelt thanks to all, including observers, the office of the Liberian Presidency, the Press Union of Liberia, the Reporters Association of Liberia and commissioners, many of whom spent sleepless hours ensuring that the election was successful.
