The National First Time Voter of Liberia has expressed concerned over the death of citizens in the country as a result of accidents of heavy-duty trucks, calling on the Government of Liberia (GOL) to put measures into place to stop container trucks and heavy-duty vehicles from plying the streets during the day.

Speaking on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at his Old Road Gaye Town residence, the Chairman of the group, Cyrus Barromi Davis II, said the refusal of the Ministry of Transport to enhance policies to stop the running of heavy-duty vehicles during the day is the cause of the recent accident that took place in district #6.

According to him, Liberia is a country of law; as such, every citizen should face the law irrespective of status.

“We are calling on the Government of Liberia (GOL), the President of Liberia and every Liberian in and out of Liberia to join hands in correcting this wrong. It can be you or a member of your family tomorrow,” he stated.

He said the people deserve to live, and the suspect needs to face justice. “Liberia is a country of law, and we must respect the law that govern each and every one of us,” he added.

It can be recalled that in recent time a tragic motor accident took place on the RIA highway that led to the death of 7 persons, including a traffic police officer.
