French Foreign Minister Arrives
The Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France, His Excellency Jean -Yves Le Drian, is in Liberia on a two-day Official visit.
According a Foreign Ministry release, Minister Jean -Yves Le Drian, at the head of a Ten-men delegation arrived on Monday the at the Roberts Interactional Airport at 3:00 post meridian.
The visiting French Foreign Minister was received upon arrival by his Liberian counterpart, H.E Minister Dee Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. The arrival ceremony, which was marked by the signing of three separate agreements, took place in the Minister’s Conference Room on the fourth floor of the Foreign Ministry.
At the ceremony, Minister Kemayah and French Foreign Minister Jean -Yves Le Drian signed an agreement valued at 8 million euro to support urban infrastructure development, particularly Monrovia and Paynesville municipalities.
On the sideline of the meeting, Eco bank-Liberia and Proparco also signed a trade finance guarantee agreement, valued at 10 million euro to support small and median enterprises in Liberia through ECO Bank-Liberia.
The two agreements signed will not only enhance the capacities of Liberian-owned businesses, but will also help to strengthen and expand the bilateral relationsbetween Liberiaand France.
Following the signing of agreement, the Liberian Foreign Minister and his French counterpart discussed critical bilateral issues aimed at strengthening the historic diplomatic ties between Liberia and France.
