FULCRUM, a not-for-profit organization operating in Liberia, has condemned recent statements issued by the head of the Council of Patriots (COP), Henry P. Costa, accusing the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), Bill Tweahway, of allegedly being involved with the death of the former Director General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), Emmanuel Bartee Nyeswah.

According to the group, Nyeswah’s death is being investigated by the Government of Liberia (GOL) and its international partners. Furthermore, the leadership of FULCRUM noted that Tweahway is a high-profiled public servant and a humanitarian who has no trace of bloodshed in the country’s history. They said Tweahway has continued to live an exemplary life for many Liberians, home and abroad. The group described Costa as “misguided, dispositioned, nonconformist, disproportionate, empty drum and a Portuguese sangba dancer, who is totally against the masses’ revolution, headed by H. E President George Manneh Weah.

FULCRUM indicated that, as a result of his frustration, Costa has decided to inconsequentially indict forerunners of the CDC government. However, the group noted that the mysterious death of the IAA boss is a national blow, and that they will not allow Costa to make mockery of the situation at the detriment of the criminal justice system of the country.

When asked the Secretary General of the organization, Mohammed Sheriff, about the formation of FULCRUM into the contemporary politics of Liberia, he responded as saying that his organization was established as a turning point for Liberia. According to Sheriff, FULCRUM’s main goal is to seek the re-election of President Weah in 2023.

Explaining further to the Hot Pepper, Sheriff noted that FULCRUM’s establishment was predicated upon the leadership performance of the current Liberian President.

The FULCRUM Secretary General has meanwhile called on the general public not to believe Costa because, according to him, Costa is not a serious person but only interested in creating problems for the nation’s growth and development.
