Residents in Gbaken, Karluway Statutory District, Maryland County, have expressed concerns over the lack of adequate pumps to meet the growing population of the area.

Gbaken Township is a local gold mine area located in Karluway, district #3, Maryland County, with an estimated population of 1,800.

District #3 is represented by Rev. Isaac Roland Blalu at National Legislature, who is seeking a third term re-election in the up-coming presidential and legislative elections.

During a media tour of the Gbaken Township, microphones picked up several residents who explained extreme challenges facing them in accessing safe-drinking water in that part of the county, especially during this raining season.

According to them, Gbaken Town is currently getting water from one hand pump constructed in 1978, which cannot adequately serve the entire Gbaken Town because of the population of the area.
