The administration of His Excellency President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. has expressed words of praise to authorities of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) for their excellent leadership performance for the period under review.

The government’s praise of the LIS is said to be mainly stemmed from the entity’s national contributions to the revenue generation, as well as its successful recruitment and graduation of 517 new officers to replace personnel who are about to be retired in accordance with the civil service regulations.

According to information, the LIS performed beyond expectation and crossed its projected revenue contribution for the fiscal year 2024. Accordingly, the LIS should have contributed US$4.1 million as its contribution to the revenue envelope, but surpassed the projection and generated US$4.7 million.

Also, the LIS was said to have properly coordinated and executed the recruitment, training and graduation of newly recruited personnel, with support from its 2024 budget allocation. The LIS authorities received praises for its excellent leadership role during the process.

Information gathered by the Hot Pepper indicates that the Government of Liberia (GOL) stands prepared to support the LIS developmental agenda, which adds to the overall develop agenda of the Unity Party-led administration.
