–Justice Clinton-Johnson Orders Rescheduling

The leadership of the House of Representatives failed to attend a conference on March 19, 2025 called by the Supreme Court Justice in Chamber, Her Honor Ceaineh Clinton-Johnson. The conference was in response to a petition filed in favor of the Chinese, Michael Shio.

Neither House members nor their lawyers appeared in court to address the petition.
The case involves a Liberian citizen, Momoh David, who accused Shio of torturing him by pouring hot plastic on his body, causing severe injuries. The House had been investigating the matter.

According to Article 65 of the Liberian Constitution, judicial powers are exclusive to the Judiciary, and no other branch can interfere. Despite this, lawmakers continued to summon Shio for investigation.

Justice Clinton-Johnson has ordered the clerk to reschedule the conference, this time directed at House Majority Speaker, Richard Koon.
