House Probes Bea Mountain On Implementation Of Plenary’s Mandate
A Specialized Ad-hoc Committee constituted by the House of Representatives to query Bea Mountain Mining Company (BMMC) on the implementation of a mandate from plenary has concluded a day-long investigative hearing involving the committee and the company.
The Committee Chairman, Representative Michael Thomas, told the gathering Wednesday, June 12, 2024 that recently there was an alarming notification of protest at Bea Mountain Mining Company, which led to the setting-up of an immediate invention committee by plenary.
Representative Thomas said the committee, based on fact-finding, submitted a comprehensive report containing 38 counts, which was endorsed by the plenary.
According to him, Montserrado County’s district #7 Representative, Emmanuel Dahn, sought the setting up of another committee to do a follow up with the company on the implementation of plenary’s mandate, thus leading to the constitution of the Specialized Ad-hoc Committee.
