Several journalists who attended a recent meeting with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. at his Rehab residence, ahead of the Christmas holidays, have reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of the engagement.

Sources who confided in newsmen disclosed that some journalists left feeling disappointed after receiving a US$100 Christmas token from the President. According to the sources, a number of attendees reportedly declined the money, describing it as inadequate given the duration of the meeting and the expectations surrounding the engagement.

The sources further revealed that, prior to the meeting, Presidential Press Secretary Kula Bonah Nyei Fofana had informed journalists that the President intended to “put smiles on their faces” as part of the Christmas season.

However, expectations were said to have fallen short following the meeting, which reportedly lasted about three hours.

Several journalists allegedly described the engagement as a “waste of time and energy”, citing both the length of the meeting and its outcome.

Despite the reported dissatisfaction, journalists in attendance reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, assuring the Executive Mansion of their dedication to balanced, factual, and ethical reporting on the activities of the presidency.

Efforts to obtain an official response from the Executive Mansion regarding the concerns raised by the journalists were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.
