Julius Parker Wins Election In Indiana–Promises To Incorporate Opponents

Following weeks of heated election fever between Philip Logan and Julius Parker for the leadership of Liberians in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America, Parker has won all the elected seats, ranging from the presidency, vice presidency to the secretary general and financial secretary, and parliamentarian positions.

   The electoral process started very tough between Team Parker and Team Logan. During debate night, Team Logan cited irregularities.

   On November 5, 2022, according to information gathered, hundreds of Liberians residing in the Liberian community in Indiana voted in favor of Team Parker for the leadership positions.

   The results of Team Parker and Team Logan: Julius Parker won as President with 229 votes against his  opponent, Philip Logan, who received 164 votes.

   Richard Gboyah won with 223 votes as Vice President against his opponent, Evan Geevon Smith, who received 161 votes; Fatima Fahnbulleh won as Financial Secretary  with 224 votes against her opponent, Morris Gumar, who received 172 votes; Robert Carey won with 232 votes as Secretary General against his opponent, Frank Traub, who received 164 votes. 

   The parliamentarian position was taken on white ballot by candidate Hortie Padma from Team Parker’s camp.

   Following the victory from the heated elections, the Hot Pepper spoke with the President-elect regarding his plan to run the affairs of Liberians in the State of Indiana.

   Parker stated that the election is over, and what matters now is running the affairs of the Liberian community in order to address issues confronting the wellbeing of Liberians.

   When questioned about his opponent, Logan, he said plans are underway by team Parker to incorporate members of Logan’s team into his leadership.

   He said his leadership will provide working opportunities for the Liberian community in Indiana. According to Parker, his leadership stands ready to promote harmony and tranquility within the Liberian community.

   The President-elect of the Liberian community in Indiana also noted that his leadership will commit its talents, effort and resources to deliver on its agenda: addressing the needs of Liberians residing in Indianapolis.

   He spoke on lots of issues confronting the forward march of the Liberian community under his leadership, but ended up by calling for all hands on deck to address the issues concerned.

   Parker’s leadership tenure is 2023—2026.
