Customers in Monrovia and its environs have commended the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) for its improved services to customers in providing reliable, accessible and affordable electricity throughout Monrovia and its environs for businesses and households.

Speaking to a team of journalists, the Manager of   Modern Photo Studio in Redlight, Sampson B. Cooper, used the opportunity to commend the LEC and its entire team for striving to ensure stable electricity in Redlight.

“I am not buying gasoline for my generator anymore for the photo studio. LEC is my partner in the business, and I am willing to buy current and pay the bill at any time,” Cooper said.

Amos T. Tengbeh, owner of the Famous Bakery, situated in Redlight, disclosed that he enjoys customer service from LEC in Redlight, adding that the bakery is currently benefiting from the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC). “I am a customer of LEC. I depend on LEC current to operate my bakery. We are willing to help LEC to protect our transformer from power theft”, he said. “Young people in Redlight are now going to banks for loan to do their work depending on LEC current to run their various businesses, because current is now stable in the commercial city of Redlight.”

Also speaking, Ruth Nyti, explained that she is currently benefiting from LEC current in West Point. “I am a business woman doing fish business. I use my icebox to protect my goods,” she said.

A mother of three, identified as Madam Collins, said she and her children survive daily from the sale of water, adding that her LEC current is the reason she buys enough water to sell, which is helping to feed her children.

According to Collins, she is currently buying a sachet of water for L$70, and sells up to 12 sachets per day because the LEC current is stable for her business.

However, businessman Newton Flomo, Randall Street, complained that his store is using LEC’s electricity, but it is not up to his satisfaction. “I want to appeal to the management of LEC to improve its network this dry season. We are finding it hard this dry season,” he said.
