“Let Us Not Mix Politics With Development”–Sen. Joseph Urges Citizens
Montserrado County Senator, Saah H. Joseph, has urged residents of Montserrado County not to mix politics with development if the county is to be transformed developmentally. He said collectively they can make Montserrado better again, but only if residents of the county, which hosts the capital city, put aside their political differences when it is time for development.
In a Liberian tone, Senator Joseph said, “I will go out there, hustle and bring whatever I will get for the development of Montserrado. My job is to go out there and look for it while your job is to help me use anything I bring for development purposes for the county.” Senator Joseph said anything for the county will be channeled through the county superintendent because she is the administrator of the county.
Upon his return from the United States of America, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Senator told his supporters and CDC partisans on Friday, June 17, 2022 that his visit was rewarding and beneficiary to the county. According to him, the package he brought for the people of Montserrado is part of his regular gestures to the people of Montserrado and Liberia at large and, therefore, should not be termed as campaign gestures.
While in the US, Senator Joseph said, he lobbied with his partners and was able to obtain twenty (20) buses, ten (10) forty feet container with drugs and pieces of yellow machines for the grading of roads in and around Montserrado. He stated that ten of the twenty buses will be arriving in July 2022 in order to rescue commuters from the high cost of transportation. While awaiting the arrival of the buses, the Senator disclosed that, as of this Tuesday, his office will start with one fully air-conditioned bus, to be called “around the world” for only L$50 to any destination. He intoned that his intervention in the transportation sector is intended to help citizens to easily commute from one place to another for low cost.
Senator Joseph revealed that the buses will be solely controlled by the Superintendent of Montserrado County, and all other problems should be reported to him. He further explained that the fish person to sit in the around the world bus will be entitled to a USD$100 to prove that his promises are not fake.
The Montserrado County Senator was warmly received on Capitol Hill upon his return from the United States of America. He took a march to the CDC headquarters and move to his residence after his arrival.
