Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh, has disclosed that the country is still engulfed with the Corona virus pandemic.

According to Dr. Kateh, there are at least 73 confirmed cases of the Corona virus in the country. He noted that at least eleven counties are in preparedness, and four are in count down.

Dr. Kateh expressed dismay about information circulating in the public about the confirmation of Ebola virus in the country.

Speaking during the Ministry of Information regular press briefing on Thursday, September 29, 2022 he disclosed that the information is false and misleading, noting that there has not been a case of Ebola virus in the country, and Liberia has met the 70 percent bench mark immunization by the World Health Organization (WHO).

He further said 3.3 million Liberians have been immunized, amounting to 71 percent, above the WHO benchmark, which he described as laudable.
