Liberian Entrepreneur Donates To JAV

Visiting Liberian entrepreneur, Eric Oppong Twum, has donated huge vocational training materials to the Journey Against Violence (JAV) Vocational Training Center within the Mt. Barclay community, district #2, Monsterrado County.

  The items donated are student electronic tool kit, chemical technology materials, clinical materials for the healthcare system there, cooking materials, plumbing and carpentry modern text books, four set of two-way communication device, solar lights, among others.

  Even though the cost of the items donated was not mentioned, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Africa Union Trading Company, Twum, noted that his company’s donation was predicted upon a pervious visit to the headquarters of the Journey Against Violence in Liberia.

  According to him, the donation was meant to enhance the workings of JAV in the country.  He told the people at JAV that his company stands prepared to address some challenges confronting JAV operations.

  “We will join hands will you in combating narcotic drugs from the system of our Liberian people,” he noted.

  The Journey Against Violence (JAV) is owned and operated by former warlord, ex-General Joshua Milton Blahyee. His center provides mental care and vocational training to mainly at-risk youth in Liberia.

  JAV also trains people addicted to drugs in Christian upbringing, taking them in for one year six months.

  JAV’s rehabilitation center is into many programs in its effort to transform Liberians, ranging from vocational skills development to healthcare system. Hundreds of Liberian youth are there seeking mental recovery. Blahyeepromised to use the donated items for their intended purpose.

  For his part, Stanley Baysah, spokesperson for the at-risk youth there, expressed their thanks and appreciation for the donation. According to him, the donated items came timely.

  The visiting businessman is in the country to meet His Excellency, Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai, anddevelopment partners on how his company can impact Liberia. He said he is interested in developing the healthcare system, education and road construction.
