LIS Dismisses One, Suspends One For Forgery
Authorities of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has dismissed officer Lawrence Greken and suspended his ally officer, Princess Mah, both of the Professional Intelligence Standard Division (PISD), for being held culpable for forgery.
According to information gathered following the preliminary investigation conducted by the LIS investigation division, Officer Lawrence Greken and Officer Princess Mah collected the amount of US$2,310 from Bob Victor Russell to process resident permit for three of his Chinese partners: Wu Xianwu, passport #, EJ3820115; Su Danlliang, passport #, G58587105; and Well Guowel, passport #, E36141156.
The complainant told the LIS investigators that US$750 was given for each, and an additional US$60 was given to them, the officers, as processing fee.
Information collected from the investigation revealed that officers Greken and Mah processed three fraudulent resident permits, procured fake LRA receipts and forged the signature of the Deputy Commissioner General for Naturalization, Assatu Bah-Kenneth.
Following the LIS PISD officers action, authorities of the LIS deemed it necessary, according to its Standard Disciplinary Regulation of 2016, that senior officer Greken be dismissed and junior officer Mah be suspended for actively participating, thereby aiding and abetting in the execution of these criminal acts (forgery and theft by deception), which constitute a category 1-major offence.
It can be recalled that the case involving senior officer Greken and junior officer Mah started on April 13, 2022.
