“Make Agriculture The Bedrock To Liberia’s Broken Economy”
An agriculture organization, “Agriculture Conduit For Transformation”, has called on the Government of Liberia (GOL) to look in the direction of agriculture in order to release Liberia from its broken economy. The group’s Executive Director, John Kucuyoiyoigee, said agriculture is a key component for Liberia’s growth and development.
Kucuyoiyoigee noted that records within the West African sub-region proves that agriculture is the only way to solving economic issues confronting Africans.
According to him, his farming group was established to help improved the economy. Kucuyoiyoigee stated that Liberia’s growth and development lies in the hands of every Liberian citizen, and not only the government.
Agriculture Conduit For Transformation is a locally based agriculture group consisting of farmers from the northern part of Liberia, working with 171 farmers in Lofa County.
The organization operates in four communities in Lofa, and recently harvested their peanuts, planted last year. The Executive Director of the organization used this medium to appreciate the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) for its support to farmers in Liberia.
He said this year’s farming was possible through a grant from the Ministry of Agriculture. When asked about his political intention, he responded as saying that his group is here to buttress the government as it fights to tackle poverty among Liberians.
