Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Tamba Koijee, has vowed to begin inspection of political parties’ headquarters within Monrovia.

Mayor Koijee stated that the reason for his upcoming housing inspection is not political witch-hunt; rather, a process to keep Monrovia clean and green.

According to him, the pending inspection is meant to keep in check with the city ordinance.

Koijee said the exercise is not intended to witch-hunt political institutions, and that political parties would be made to visit the Monrovia City Corporation regarding the exercise.

Speaking on Voice of Liberia in Monrovia on October 24, 2022, Koijee said the city government’s lack of budgetary allocation is one of the reasons the city is facing a lot of challenges.

He called on the National Legislature to create an environment for him, as a mayor of the city, to discuss the way forward to make a better Monrovia.

He underscored the need for owners of political party’s headquarters within Monrovia and various embassies to reach out to the Monrovia City Hall for scheduled visit.
